AIkjiu turns yet unused data into impact

We are Christof and Philip, two researchers from the German Research Center for Artificial Intelligence (DFKI). In the course of our research, we’ve noticed that cellular networks generate an incredible amount of data that goes unused. This is particularly unfortunate because this data has great potential to help address pressing societal challenges, such as drone defense.
After many years of intensive research, we’ve developed a technology that now makes this data usable! To bring it to market as a startup, we need your help.
Description
We are developing a platform that makes data from the cellular network available to third-party providers. Applications could include drone detection, but the data can also contribute to infrastructure security or improve smart city applications. With our help, network operators can thus generate additional revenue from their infrastructure, and AI-powered models can work with a significantly larger data source.
We are currently preparing a real-world field test and are specifically looking for pilot customers and ways to successfully bring our model to market.
At the same time, issues such as data protection and the protection of our own technology are essential to us right now.
We’re still in the very early stages and would greatly appreciate your feedback and support on how best to address these issues based on your experience!
Challenge 1
#PilotPartner: We are looking for a public or private network operator for a pilot project. What obstacles have YOU encountered in similar collaborations, and how did you overcome them? What is the best way to prepare, and which communication channel works best?
Challenge 2
#Protection Strategy: Since it’s difficult to obtain patent protection for our AI-based solution, what alternative protection strategies (e.g., trade secrets, first-mover advantage, data exclusivity) do you know of or recommend for AI-driven innovations? Who has experience in this area and would like to share their insights?
