We – that’s Alex, Lucas, Patrick and Viktor – and with our start-up Greenable, we actively help companies in the manufacturing sector to achieve full transparency regarding their CO₂ emissions.

What exactly do we do?
Our innovative software, the “Product Carbon Footprint Monitor”, collects data via existing interfaces and uses this to calculate the carbon footprint of selected products. The company in question does not need any specialist expertise of its own to do this, and requires only minimal staff and financial resources. With our solution, companies can optimise their use of materials whilst minimising energy consumption. This is a highly relevant issue, particularly in today’s world.

#Usability: It is important to us that the software is simple and intuitive to use. This naturally includes a suitable user interface for operating our software. What might such an interface look like? Can you give us some inspiring examples from other contexts?

#Trustworthiness: When it comes to food, there are a wide variety of labels – such as the organic label or Nutri-Score – which are designed to build trust and help us make purchasing decisions. We would like to establish a similar label for our software. Companies can use this label in their communications to inform their customers about how good their products’ carbon footprint is. What might such a label look like for us, and what would it need to include to inspire trust? Can you suggest any labels from other sectors that we could use for inspiration?

#Areas of application: We’re thinking about tomorrow today: in the future, our software could not only help companies with industrially manufactured products, but could also be used for services, for example. Do you know of any other sectors or areas of application that will have similar requirements in the future and to which we could deliver added value with our solution?
