Universities operate many buildings with varying usage patterns throughout the day. Heating, cooling, and lighting systems often run at full capacity even when rooms are unused. The goal of this challenge is to explore how data (e.g. room occupancy, schedules, weather, sensor data) can be used to optimize energy consumption while maintaining comfort for students and staff. Participants are invited to propose technical, organizational, or hybrid solutions that reduce energy waste.
